I enjoy making art because it is a nice and calming way to unleash my emotions and express how I feel at times, and taking art classes in school gives me a calming period throughout the stressful school day.

My favorite materials are pencils and colored pencils because they are easy to learn to use and are very diverse in what they could create in art pieces. My favorite piece I made this year was the chalk pastel portrait because it was my first time creating a portrait using chalk pastel and I took a lot of time working on the piece, and I was very proud on how the piece came out and its resemblance to the my brother, who the portrait is made after. I think areas of growth for me this year are being more useful for my time this year in class. Another area for growth this year getting used to new art materials swiftly to stay on task with pieces.
